About

Formed by composer and keyboardist Gordon Hulbert and vocalist Alison Limerick, "Algorisims" is an impressive band that performs a mix of classic grooves, contemporary songs and the occasional excellent original. Musical director and producer Gordon Hulbert has a long history performing live with artists as diverse as Hugh Masekela, Chaka Khan, Alexander O’Neal and Heatwave. He was a member of latin supergroup Mr Hermano and joined multiple BMI award-winning folktronica band Psapp for their European and US tours. He leads a double life as a composer/producer for movies and TV, opening his own recording studio in Notting Hill in 1997. His own productions can be heard on Palace Films, KODA Films, MTV, NBC and the BBC. Perhaps best known as a singer at the heart of the international club scene, Alison Limerick was also heavily involved in the early days of the burgeoning UK soul/jazz movement, including work with Courtney Pine, JTQ and Roger Beaujolais. She has an impressive list of credits, recording and performing live with numerous artists as well as scoring worldwide hits with “Where Love Lives”, “Make It On My Own” and “Love Come Down” and her own albums, ‘And Still I Rise’ and ‘With A Twist’ released on BMG and ‘Spirit Rising’ were received with considerable praise. Alison toured her live band around Europe and the Far East and was featured on the UK’s prime time Saturday Night Live. As a session singer she has worked with the likes of George Michael (appearing with him on The Parkinson Show), Tony Hadley, The Style Council and Pete Waterman. Alison and Gordon are probably best known here at the Club for their work with their other (somewhat larger!) highly acclaimed Electro-Groove project Eat Logic. Accompanying them this evening will be, unsurprisingly, some of the finest musicians around; Greg Heath (Roy Ayers, Maceo Parker, Dr John, Nile Rogers, Beverley Knight, Mica Paris, Van Morrison, Omar, Joan Armatrading, Geno Washington)-sax; Winston Blissett (Massive Attack, Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Down To The Bone, Basement Jaxx, Reel People, Dub Colossus, Protect The Beat)-bass and Mark Mondesir (Jeff Beck, Van Morrison, McCoy Tyner, Joe Zawinul, John Scofield, Courtney Pine, Julian Joseph, Kevin Eubanks)-drums....
