About

Born in Sao Paolo, Brazil, bass player Moyses dos Santos showed an aptitude for the instrument from a very early age. His first public performance was at the age of 8, when he appeared with his local church band, and he continued to perform within the church environment right up through to the age of 18. Once in his teens the word soon got out and it wasn’t long before he found himself touring Brazil with established gospel and pop artists. His international career really took off, though, on his move to London in the late 2000’s when he was in his mid 20’s. It didn’t take long for his talent to be recognised, and for the last 3 years or so he has been touring Europe and his native South America with various high profile bands as well as working regularly as a successful studio musician here in London. Co-founder, along with Incognito and Level 42 drummer Pete Ray Biggin, of the impressive band “Lola’s Day Off” (who are releasing a new EP before starting a European tour), Moyses is also in the process of recording his own album with well known instrumentalists from both the UK and the US. Tonight Moyses will be appearing with his own fantastic band that features some remarkable UK-based musicians, including Zhenya Strigalev on saxophone, Mikayl Dawood on guitar, Tomasz Bura on keyboards and Jamie Murray on drums. Moyses has also asked wonderful vocalist Zalon (Thompson), who toured with Amy Winehouse for more than three years, to join the band for some impromptu “soulful grooving”. And if all that wasn’t enough Moyses’s Special Guest will be one of the UK’s finest jazz/rap artists, (as well as old friend of the Club), the brilliant saxophonist Soweto Kinch. This is an amazing line up put together just for this gig and is a fantastic treat for anyone who likes great Latin/Brazilian/Groove. Booking advised....
