London-born, South African-raised vocalist and composer Nicky Schrire recently returned to London after studying and living in New York for five years. Her “pensive yet ethereal style” (JazzTimes) has earned her both the respect of critics and musical collaborators such as Gerald Clayton, Fabian Almazan, Gil Goldstein and Ben Wendel. Her debut album ‘Freedom Flight’ was lauded as “clever and understated…an exceptional debut” by Hardbop Jazz Journal, while All About Jazz described her sophomore release ‘Space and Time’ as “an intimate stunner.”

A “talented singer who's also a serious musician, very committed to her art, never afraid to try out something new in her own irrepressible style” (London Jazz), Schrire has shared her music with audiences in New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Portland, South Africa, Ireland and London. Her quartet for this performance will feature MOBO Award-winning tenor saxophonist and Kairos 4tet frontman Adam Waldmann....
